Awesome video clip! I've been trying to figure out that whole 'buy in the middle of summer, thing too...any outdoor shop in Ottawa (MEC, Trailhead, etc.) has said, "Well, we don't have anything in right now, but we have some great spring and summer ware if you're interested." If you ask for a jacket that will keep you warm in -40 weather, why, oh why, would you be interested in a pair of hiking pants to tour around Gatineau Park?

you live in ontario, right? where were you able to actually try these jackets on? anywhere close to ottawa? i was planning on ordering online but, after reading some of your stuff, now i'm a bit nervous of getting something that doesn't fit right.

hope the planning is going well.

We tried the jackets on at Sporting Life in Toronto. I'm not sure they have an Ottawa location but if you check the authorized retailers on the Canada Goose website, you might be able to find a store close to your home where you can at least try it on before you buy/order! At this time of year, they didn't have the exact jacket in the exact size and colour I wanted in stock, but it was definitely worth seeing the product in person before dropping that kind of cash.

Good luck with your move.

Here are two Nunavummiut moving tips:
- watch for winter jackets once you get here - there is always 'beginning of the season' second hand coat sales, particularly around Sept with lots of folks coming and going
- our mover advised us that they couldn't "officially" pack food but they wouldn't open boxes that were already packed ... so a few of my boxes were labelled "Feminine Products", and they included my very "feminine" needs for brown, red and wild rice, couscous, spices, and dried vegetables ...

Happy packing and transitioning ...
